Diana M. Hawton, age 76 of Redwood Falls, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024 at River Valley Health and Rehabilitation in Redwood Falls. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2024 at Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will be in the Redwood Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family would like donations made to Redwood Falls Public Library. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Diana Marie Hawton was born August 29, 1947 to Warren and Esther (Castle) Hawton in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Throughout her childhood, Diana attended Lincoln Elementary, Hector Public Schools, Hanska Country School, Sleepy Eye Public School and in 1965 she graduated from Redwood Falls High School. She lived in various cities including Hector, Sleepy Eye, Marshall and Redwood Falls. Diana had many jobs throughout her life including babysitting, detasseling, Sunwood Nursing Home, Redwood Gazette, Control Data, Northwestern Bell, Prescott Printing, Ben Franklin, Redwood Falls Library, Minnesota Inventors Congress, and Redwood Credit Bureau. She was a sales associate at Redwood Falls Walmart until she retired on May 31, 2017.

Diana is survived by her siblings: Richard of Redwood Falls, Russell of Brooklyn Park, Beth (“The Donald”) Leopold of Redwood Falls and Linda Wildeman of Worthington; nephews: Scott (Casey) Leopold, Jason (Lydia) Wildeman and Michael (Rachel) Wildeman; nieces: Amanda (Dan) Ascherl and Angela Hawton & Lindsey (Scott) McCullough; and great nephews & nieces: Nolan, Elsie, Grant & Brynn Leopold, Henri & George Wildeman, Blair & Axel Wildeman, Lily & Harper McCullough, and Isabella, Tenley, Ryder & Berklee Ascherl. She is preceded in death by her parents, Warren & Esther, special cousin Cheryl Prescott, and many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles & cousins.
