Evelyn “Evie” Stadick, age 90 of Walnut Grove, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024 at the Valley View Manor in Lamberton. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 16, at the Walnut Grove Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Walnut Grove.  Walnut Grove Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Evie was born August 3, 1933 on the family farm in North Hero Township to Pete and Alice (Coopman) DeSmith. She grew up in and remained a member of the Catholic faith. Evelyn married Ronald Stadick on August 17, 1957 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Walnut Grove. To this union, their son, Bob was born. Together the couple farmed near Walnut Grove. A jack of all trades, Evie worked for a seed company, driving truck, and later worked for the casino. In January of 2021  she moved to Country View in Walnut Grove. November of 2023 Evie entered Valley View Manor in Lamberton. Evie was a longtime member of the St. Paul Catholic church in Walnut Grove. She enjoyed creating arts and crafts to brighten the world around her and her loved ones. She loved traveling with her husband Ron and often with their son, Bob. Some of her favorite destinations were Mexico, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, and wintering in Texas for over 20 years.

Evelyn is survived by her numerous nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ron, son Bob, and brother Edward DeSmith.
