Gerald “Jerry” Roger Johnson, age 88 of Milroy, MN, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Sanford Tracy Medical Center surrounded by family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2026, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Milroy with a visitation one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be held in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Milroy. Stephens Funeral Service – Tracy Area Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Gerald Roger Johnson was born January 29, 1938, to Henry and Ann (Soupir) Johnson in Marshall, MN. Jerry received the sacraments in the Catholic faith and graduated in 1956 from Milroy Public School. Jerry loved the farm and began farming at a very young age when his father passed away. On June 7, 1958, Gerald and Roselyn Dudgeon were joined in marriage at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan and from this union they were blessed with three sons. Together they lived in an apartment in Lucan before moving to the family farm, where they spent the rest of their lives. After Rosie passed away in November of 2025, Jerry’s sons stayed close to take care of him. Gerald was a lifetime member of St. Michael Catholic Church, where he served as an usher and helped with the cemetery. He enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings games, as well as old western movies. Gerald loved visiting with friends and family, playing cards, going on drives to check the farm, fishing and going on fishing trips. Jerry was very proud of his boys and looked forward to attending their activities. You could always see a smile on his face when he was giving the grandkids rides on the tractor, lawn mower, and 4-wheeler.

Jerry is survived by his children: Chad Johnson of Milroy, Steve (Wendy) Johnson of Tracy, and Dale (Ginger) Johnson of West Des Moines; grandchildren: Cole of Eden Prairie, Ashley of Chanhassen, Alex of Brooklyn, NY, and Nick of Pheonix, AZ; brother, David (Theresa) Johnson of Tracy; siblings-in-law: Betty Brau, Jack, Dale, & Vance Dudgeon; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosie; and granddaughter, Kari Johnson.
