Helen became an “almost sister” to Phyllis Larson following the birth of twins Tom and Terri. Phyllis needed daily help and Helen provided it. The women remained friends for many, many years. All five of the Larson children hold her dear in their hearts. Our family sends deepest condolences, and rejoices in her kindness and wisdom. Scott Larson and Robin Stegner

Sincere sympathy to all. My Mother, Evelyn Galstad, and Helen were best friends. I have fond memories of the garage sales.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Van Slooten family on their loss of Helen. She was a remarkable lady that had a kind word for everybody. I always had great conversations with her whenever we met. We talked about family a lot as Dave, Vilas and I were good friends. She will be remembered.

Sending deepest symphathies. I have so many memories from childhood of get togethers with the Castles.

My condolences to the Van Slooten family. I lived down Minnesota Street from Helen and did yard work for her when I was in school. She was always kind, having a snack for me after the work was done, playing some piano, and chatting.

Helen really made a difference in the lives of others. I got to know her through her work with MADD where she positively impacted so many lives. She is a local hero in my eyes. I have much respect for her. My condolences to her family and all who loved her.
