To the family of Jim Klasse: Your husband, dad, father-in-law, grandpa, etc., was a special kind of person. It is rare to find an individual who has done well financially, that doesn't show off. Jim and Peggy were comfortable money-wise, but they kept a low profile, one they can be proud of. I had numerous opportunities to interact with Jim over the decades, and in each instance, it was always a simple pleasure to chat with him. He treated me, and I suppose everyone else, like an equal. So the "Bishop" as I liked to call him, has gone on a great adventure in the spirit world. I will miss him, but also know each of his family members will miss him much more than I understand. May the reality of the resurrection, in this season of Lent, provide comfort to each of Jim's family members. May each of you also continue to make Jim happy as you wisely and kindly carry on the family name. God bless his memory.

Is Westbrook even Westbrook without Jimmy around? There's hardly anyone around who probably can recall it before him, but I think we all know it's the lesser now without him. The man was larger than life, gregarious in a way I've rarely seen, whether it was holding court at the shop there on first or cutting a swath at the Dovray Manor.  It was, maybe 25 years ago, I had picked up a '70 Mustang coupe and that first winter, the cold combined with how it twisted when turning had cracked my power steering return hose. So I'm in the shop, and we're getting a braided hose installed, and he comes into the bay. And starts telling stories. And then notices my bumpers. He steps out, comes back with some polish and a rag, and begins the polishing lesson. I try, I don't do it right. Circles, it's gotta be circles, then you move out across the bumper. I finally pass muster. And I'm back on the road. Thinking back, he was one helluva businessman, but I don't think I ever paid for that bottle of polish, I don't remember it on my bill. So I suppose I still owe you all a couple bucks for it, but I I owe alot more for all the memories. My deepest condolences and all my best...
