Janet Ann (Roemer) Mischke, age 96 of Westbrook, passed away peacefully Monday, April 7, 2025 at Good Samaritan Society in Westbrook. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 10 at Westbrook Funeral Home. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Friday. Interment will be in the Westbrook Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Service – Westbrook Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. 

Janet Ann (Roemer) Mischke was born January 19, 1929 to William H. and Agnes M. (Odell) Roemer in Windom, Minnesota. She was baptized in Storden and graduated as Valedictorian from Storden High School. On March 20, 1946, Janet was united in marriage to Willard “Bud” Mischke, they were blessed with 64 years together before his passing. Janet worked at the Westbrook Post Office for many years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she worked as a secretary and played organ during services. Janet shared her love of music through teaching music classes, volunteering as church choir director, and as accompanist for Joyful Sound. She was a member of the Westbrook Heritage Museum and served on the Cottonwood Welfare board and the Southwest Mental Health board. Janet and Bud competed on horseback and earned trophies in Saddle Club pairs competitions. Janet enjoyed reading, playing bridge, crossword puzzles, and spelling.

Janet is survived by her sons: Larry (Susan) of Ely, Richard (Kathleen) of Walnut Grove, Jay (Julie) of Darwin, David (Judy) of Darwin, and Lee (Lisa) of Westbrook; ten grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, step-mother Alma, husband Willard “Bud” Mischke, brother Robert (Constance), half-sister Billie Jean Moore, nephew Gene Roemer, niece Luana VanMaanen, siblings-in-law Marvin Mischke & Gloria (Dwight) Jacobs, and family friend James Soll.
