Janice Ferguson, age 81 of Storden, passed away Monday, July 25, 2022 at home surrounded by her family after a 10 year battle with Breast Cancer.  Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2022 at Westbrook Funeral Home.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Interment will be in the Amo Lutheran Cemetery in Storden.  

Janice, daughter of Hilmer and Edna Solomonson, was born on September 30, 1940 in Slayton, Minnesota.  Janice grew up with two brothers, Gary and Milt.  Janice attended school in Westbrook and graduated with a high school diploma from Heron Lake.  She met Tom Ferguson at a barn dance and they were united in marriage on September 2, 1960 at Amo Lutheran Church of Storden.  They added to their family one son and five daughters.  Janice worked for numerous area businesses such as Campbell Soup, Sperry Uni-Vac, Cuddy’s and as an In Home Nurse’s Aide, among others.  Janice loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. To pass the time she enjoyed puzzles, reading books, Word Search, Bowling and Old Western Movies.  You could often find her visiting with friends and neighbors and going on Week-end Getaways. She had a love for horses and Country Music.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Tom; children: Scott (Londa) Ferguson of St. Peter, Teresa Meinders of Brewster, April (Vertues) Hass of Lake Park, IA, Eva Tentler of Alexandria, Melissa (Randy) Pankonin of Eyota, Brenda (Wayne) Bakken of Deer Creek; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers: Gary of Delano and Milt (Kathy) of Zumbro Falls; and extended family and friends.  Janice is preceded in death by her parents Hilmer and Edna Solomonson, Step-Mother Olga Solomonson, an infant son, sister-in-law Dorothy Solomonson and son-in-law Dean Meinders.
