Janice Marie Shiffer, age 77 of Redwood Falls, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Trinity Care Center in Farmington. Memorial Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 24 at St. John Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. 

Janice Marie (Schultz) Shiffer was born in Springfield on March 22, 1946 to Walter Otto and Lucille Rose (Schulz) Schultz. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Clements. Jan attended country school for 6 years and graduated from Redwood Falls High School. She married Gerald Dean Shiffer and they were blessed with 2 children. They made their home in Apple Valley. Jan worked at Control Data. After retirement, she and Gerald traveled in their motorhome. Jan quilted along the way as well as at home. She also enjoyed golfing and spending time with her mother, children and grandchildren. Jan was a very devoted daughter, mom, grandma and friend.

Jan is survived by her mother Lucille Schultz of Redwood Falls; children: Wendi (Steve) Gifford of Farmington & Chad Shiffer of FL; grandchildren: Christian Gifford, Emelia Gifford, Alexander Gifford & Natalie Gifford; siblings: Les Schultz, Lois (Dennis) Panitzke, Deloris Werner, Donna (Doug) Serbus, Jeanette (Dale) Prahl, Jean (Joe) Kohout, and Richard (Sue) Schultz; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, brother Leonard, sister-in-law Pat Schultz, and brother-in-law Doc Werner.
