Judith Veronica Curwick, age 72 of Marshall, passed away Monday, January 27, 2025 at Morningside Heights in Marshall. She survived cancer twice, but couldn’t overcome her most recent battle. A Celebration of Life will be held in the fall, which was Judy’s favorite time of year. Memorials are preferred to Prairie Home Hospice House where Judy’s mother was the first resident and was cared for.  Stephens Funeral Service – Walnut Grove Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Judith Veronica (Oestreich) Curwick was born January 22, 1953 in Benson, Minnesota to Richard and Rachel (Baum) Oestreich. She attended school at Walnut Grove Public School and Rasmussen College at Mankato, where she graduated with high honors in the secretarial field. Judy married Larry Curwick on June 25, 1976 at the “Little Brown Church in the Vale” in Nashua, Iowa. They later remarried at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marshall in 1984. They had two daughters, Cynthia Lee and Stephanie MaRae. Her first employment was at Farmers Home Administration in Red Wing. She worked there for one and a half years and left. Judy returned to Marshall and worked at Club 59 as a waitress and also at B&H Electronics. She then sought employment as a secretary at the Registrar’s Office at Southwest State University. After the birth of her first child, she became a “stay at home” Mom. After both of her daughters were in school, she then returned to Southwest State University as a part-time secretary in the Student Association office. Judy was involved at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and was a member of the Social Concerns Committee as well as the Sarah Circle. She enjoyed traveling and saw most of the United States including two trips to Hawaii. Her real joys in life were her two daughters and three step-grandchildren.

Judy is survived by her daughters: Cindy (Adam) Titelbaum of Broomfield, CO & Stephanie Curwick of Seattle, WA; three grandchildren: Maddie, Jonny & Ben Titelbaum; nine nieces & nephews; and brothers Richard & Jim Oestreich. She is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Rachel, brother Martin Paul, sister Cathy Standaert, and brother Stan Oestreich.
