Cindy, family and friends, I am so sorry for your loss. Cindy, I don't know if you remember me or not, but Larry was such a great guy! He was one year older than me and we played football together in Belview, and in 1969, I believe it was, we won the Wocohami Conference championship that year. I played QB and Larry was one of our running backs along with Mike Pelz. What a tandem. Thunder and Lightning. When I handed the ball to Larry, he would either bowl defenders over or hurdle them on his way to the end zone for a TD. As David Hagan said above, you really didn't want to try and tackle him. When I visited him and Cindy in Delhi post high school, Larry would always show me his Nomads and we'd always go for a ride. We were both big car enthusiasts. I miss those times. We also worked at Specialty Engineering together for a stretch. Unfortunately, news travels slowly from Belview to Des Moines, Iowa. Had I known earlier, Lori and I would have most certainly been there. God Bless you all. Rest in Peace Larry. I'll meet up with you later on the field. - barry

Cindy and family, I am so sorry for your loss...you are all in my thoughts and prayers as you all gather together to remember Larry...remember his smile, laughter and stories and hold them close to your hearts that day and every day forward...these will be the memories of his love that will help you through each day...I am not saying it will make it easier, but it will help ease the pain a little...I know there is a lot of love between Cindy and Larry, I know you are all going to need to be strong for each other...God will bless you as well...prayers and more...Amen

Cindy and family: My thoughts and prayers go out to you all as you mourn the passing of your husband, father, grandfather and friend. Larry was a wonderful guy with a quiet way about him that I and I'm sure many others admired. He was a leader by example in many ways in school, in sports and in many other areas. He was also one tough guy to tackle on the football field.

I never got to know my Uncle Larry, but it sounds as though I would have liked to. Rest in Peace, Uncle, and I hope to see you in Heaven. Maybe you, Dad, and I can go fishing, together.

To Cindy and family, My deepest sympathy Cindy to you and your family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in the days and weeks ahead. I called mom (Joyce Emerson Gulbranson) so she would know about Larry. She remembered hearing from you at Christmas and telling her Larry had cancer. We both are so happy you were able to celebrate your 50th anniversary together! It was meant to be. It touched our hearts that you kept in touch with her. May you find peace in the months ahead with all of your great memories together! Love from the Gulbranson Family!

Larry was my first friend when I moved to Delhi in 1964-we had lots of fun growing up together, playing sports together in school, and running around together—Larry great humor was one of his traits, he always had a way of spinning at situation into laughter—we spent summers riding bike, swimming at Gold Mine lake, playing softball behind the old Delhi school with all the kids around Delhi-Larry created many memories for me—my heartfelt sympathies go to Cindy and their children-I’m sincerely lost for words to hear this today-May God bless the family in their lost of a wonderful husband, father, and my friend
