LaVonne Lenora Villa, age 86 of Westbrook, went to her heavenly home Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Ava’s Hospice House in Sioux Falls with her family by her side.  Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church.  Interment will be in the Westbrook Cemetery.  Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, guests will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing guidelines. Stephens Funeral Service – Westbrook Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

LaVonne Lenora Villa was born January 6, 1935 to Andrew and Elizabeth (Mielke) Andersen in Fox Lake Township, Minnesota.  She grew up in Welcome, MN, where she attended church and school.  She graduated from Welcome High School in 1953.  On September 12, 1953, LaVonne was united in marriage to Keith Villa at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Welcome.  The couple made their home in Westbrook.  In addition to being a homemaker and mother, LaVonne was the bookkeeper for Keith’s business, Westbrook Dairy, which later became Oak Grove Dairy.  When the bookkeeping system changed with Oak Grove’s expansions, LaVonne joined the Westbrook school district.  There she worked in the kitchen and then as a teachers’ aide in the elementary school for over 20 years, primarily in the early elementary classrooms.  LaVonne was involved in the community as a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Lions Club, and was an active supporter of the Special Olympics.  She enjoyed time with family and friends, playing Bunko, flower gardening, and feeding the many birds who came to the well-stocked feeders outside of her kitchen windows.

LaVonne is survived by her children: Patti (Pat) Campbell of Sioux Falls, SD, Lori Grote (Paul Jones) of Jackson, Kevin of Cloquet, Kurt of Westbrook, and Kent of Westbrook; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Keith, two sisters, and one brother.
