Leonard “Lenny” D. Nott, age 86 of Walnut Grove, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Our House Hospice in Slayton. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to your favorite local charity and take a kid fishing. Stephens Funeral Service – Walnut Grove Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Lenny was born May 28, 1939 to Lester and Ruby (Quesenberry) Nott in Clements, Minnesota. He attended country school through the eighth grade and then worked with his dad on the farm. In 1965, after the farm auction, Lenny worked at Sanborn Manufacturing Company in Springfield for 36 years and retired in 2001. Following his retirement, Lenny did lawn care and snow removal for the city of Walnut Grove and helped local farmers with harvest in the fall. He was united in marriage to Renee Sharon Lundeen in 1980. Together they raised ten children. Lenny was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He enjoyed his summers fishing at his cabin on Lake Shetek. You could often find him gardening and taking care of his lawn. He was “Mr. Fix-it” always helping others with repairs. Lenny enjoyed watching Gunsmoke and Bonanza. He loved driving around the country side and spending time with family.
Leonard is survived by his wife Renee of 45 years; children: Kris (Shanti) Nott of Moorhead, Vicki (Galen) Kodet of Redwood Falls, Steve (Carol) Nott of Clements, Brian (Jayne) Nott of Morton, Kelly (Randy) Schefus of Redwood Falls, Bonnie (Jim) Holman of Lamberton, Tim (Lisa) Schenk of Harrisburg, Kurt (Vicki) Schenk of Buffalo, Terry (Tina) Schenk of Dassel and Tammy (Chad) Hollingsworth of Champlin; 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sisters: Phyllis Swanson and Fern Trost; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
