Lucille Christopherson, age 98 formerly of rural Milroy, passed away on Wednesday February 21, 2024 at Valley View Manor in Lamberton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 26^th at Walnut Grove Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to the time of service at Walnut Grove Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Milroy Community Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Monday. Stephens Funeral Service – Walnut Grove Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lucille Christopherson was born January 18, 1926 to Joseph and Maude (Wilbur) Nelson in Walnut Grove, Minnesota. Lucille attended school in Walnut Grove. She was united in marriage to Harold Christopherson on May 8, 1944 at the Christ United Presbyterian Church in Marshall, Minnesota. They lived near the Tracy area for six years, then moved to the Milroy farm in 1952. She worked at various places including Marshall Produce, Best Western, Milroy Creamery, and Milroy School. A true caregiver, Lucille then cared for the Johnson and Dardis families. She enjoyed being a member of the Ashford Presbyterian Church in Milroy, where she taught Sunday school. Lucille could often be found gardening, canning, or embroidering, and she loved raising chickens and ducks. Lucille’s family wishes to thank Darla and Randy Larsen for the countless hours of care, boundless love, and selfless devotion shown to Lucille over the last several years.

Lucille is survived by her son Doug Christopherson of Milroy, her grandson Brent Christopherson of Milroy, as well as many nieces and nephews. Lucille is preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Craig, and her siblings Esther, Doris, JoAnn, Edna, Agnes, Emma, Earl, Leroy, Vergel, Gordon, Maynard, and Alvin.
