Merle Victor Grieger was born December 24, 1943 to Victor and Cora (Fester) Grieger in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota.  He was baptized in the Lutheran faith.  In 1950, he moved with his family to the Wood Lake area and in 1977 they moved to the Belview area.  Merle lived with his family until 1979, when he became a resident of the Robert Milton Home and later REM houses in Redwood Falls.  He attended the Redwood County DAC, which later became Service Enterprises, Inc.  Merle was a lifelong fan of the Minnesota Twins.  He also enjoyed going for rides and drinking coffee.  Merle especially loved visiting with family and the many people who were responsible for his care.  Merle’s family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staffers in all his houses over the years.

Merle is survived by his siblings: Joyce Grieger of Belview, Sheila (Spencer) Stephens of Tomah, WI, and Bradley (Donna) Grieger of Granite Falls; nieces & nephews: Zachary, Ashley, & Michael Stephens, and Eric (Brandy) & Joshua Grieger; and great niece and nephews: Zavier, Teagan & Brynn.
