Norma Janachovsky, age 89 of Marshall formerly of Lucan, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Morningside Heights in Marshall.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2022 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan.  Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 20 at the church.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Monday.  Interment will be in the Our Lady of Victory Catholic Cemetery.  

Norma Janachovsky was born March 1, 1933 to Stephen and Gertrude (Koller) Skoblik in Granite Rock Township, Redwood County, Minnesota.  She was baptized and confirmed at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan. Norma attended country school District 81 near Lucan and later graduated from Wabasso High School.  After high school she got her degree at St. Mary’s hospital in Rochester. On June 1, 1954, she was united in marriage to Raymond F. Janachovsky at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. The couple moved to Raymond’s family farm near Lucan where they farmed for many years. Norma was a nurse at Weiner Memorial hospital in Marshall as well as at the Wabasso Nursing Home until she retired 1981. Over the years she was a member of the CCW, Legion Auxiliary, Catholic Workmen and the Lucan quilting group. She enjoyed spending time at the lake, gardening, canning, watching the birds, crafting, reading, doing crosswords, playing bingo and making puzzles. She loved to cook, bake and spend time with all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a loving and welcoming person and had a way of making everyone feel at home.

Norma is survived by her children: Vicky Seebeck of Cottonwood, Mary (Steven) Wesner of Apple Valley, Michael “Jay” (Janice) of Mission, TX, Mark (Karen) of Donnelly, Brian (Darcy) of Wood Lake, Lori Meier of Lucan, Todd (Bethany) of Marshall, Pamela (Richard) Riley of Sanborn & Lisa (Todd Gullickson) Rinish of Granite Falls; many grandchildren & great grandchildren; siblings: Beatrice Shemon, Elaine Manke, & Delbert (Phyllis) Skoblik; sister-in-law Sue Skoblik; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond, an infant daughter, brothers Myron (Bonnie) Skoblik & Melvin Skoblik, son-in-law Michael Seebeck, and brothers-in-law Marvin Manke & Eugene Shemon.
