I graduated with Paul from HS in 1979. He could fix and build anything in school. He basically did my 8th grade shop project for me. I think it took him 2 hours. The last time I saw Paul was around 1989 on a Saturday night during the summer at the American Legion Club. We closed the Legion down and went to my parents house & hung out talking in the basement until 3 AM. It was a great night and is a fond memory. He was a very kind & gentle guy. My best to his family.

What a super guy--makes it that much harder to lose him. The term "nice guy" is way overused, but not for Paul. He was, simply, one of the good guys. Sincere condolences.

My sincere sympathy to the DeSmith family and especially Dorothy. I always think of my dear DeSmith family on the 4th of July. Never forget those great times at Bloody Lake Swimming, fishing, volleyball, playing baseball against the growth ups and blowing up Cow pies. I am so sorry for your loss and I am sending prayers and a special hug to all. I love you DeSmith family. Lisa Landkammer Hoffman

My sincere sympathies to the entire DeSmith family. I have fond memories working with Paul at Sell Bros many years ago. He was a person many people came to when they needed help fixing just about anything. May the good memories sustain you during this time. - Dan Peterson
