Richard G. Dallenbach was born August 15, 1943 in Tracy, Minnesota to Hugo and Frances (Ocharzk) Dallenbach.  He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith.  He attended school in Walnut Grove, and graduated in 1961. On June 23, 1962, Richard married Cathy Weinzetl at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tracy.  The couple settled on a farm near Walnut Grove where they farmed the land and raised their family.  Richard was a Redwood County Assessor, and a member of the Johnsonville Township board.  He was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Walnut Grove.  Richard loved the outdoors and had a passion for conservation; he planted countless trees and bushes in his lifetime.  He especially enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and taking them to “the pond”.  Richard enjoyed being with his friends playing pool or card games. He and Cathy spent many winters at their home in Arizona.  Richard’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Sanford Tracy Medical Center and Prairie View Senior Living for the wonderful care given to Richard.

Richard is survived by his wife, Cathy; children: Greg (Kathy) of Bird Island, Vicky Rasmussen of Tracy, Valerie Dallenbach (Brad) of Lake Shetek; grandchildren: Dustin (Catheryn) Dallenbach, Jessica (Michael) Thompson, Amanda (Mark) Brinkley, Anthony (Christina) Rasmussen, Allison (Jason) Ourada, Amber (Andy) Nelson, and Zachary and Nathan Seager; 13 great-grandchildren; sister Marilyn Phillippe of Cottonwood; brother David (Mary) Dallenbach of Tulsa, OK; sister-in-law JoAnn Dallenbach of Farmington; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law Paul Rasmussen, brother Jan, brother-in-law Robert Phillippe, and niece Mary Jo Phillippe Henle.
