Ruth Ora (Lidtke) Bevier, age 102 of Westbrook, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Good Samaritan Care Center in Mountain Lake.  Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at church on Wednesday. Stephens Funeral Service – Westbrook Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ruth Ora (Lidtke) Bevier was born October 18, 1921 to George and Anna (Rausenberger) Lidtke on the farm in Rosehill Township. She was baptized in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church and attended District 48 school there before moving to Westbrook in the early 1930s. She graduated from Westbrook High School in 1941. While in school, she enjoyed kittenball, gun club, and singing in the choir and quartet with friends. Ruth’s first job after graduation was at Ernie & Hannah’s Grocery Store. She married Everett Bevier on June 11, 1943. The next years found Ruth busy with housework and their 3 children – James, Jean and Linda. She went back to work in 1959 – first at the grocery store, then for 7 years for Bernie Fjesith and in 1967 she started working at Fingerhut in Windom until 1978. After that, Ruth sold Mary Kay cosmetics and had 7 recruits. Ruth was active at church and was on the Advisory Board at the Westbrook Good Samaritan Home for 20 years. Ruth had a special friendship with classmate Maurice Mitchell beginning in 2006 and ending when Maurice passed away Oct 4, 2014. In her 90’s, Ruth enjoyed her Mary Kay, playing cards, attending concerts, visiting with friends and spending time with her dear and wonderful family.

Ruth is survived by her children: Jim (Peggy) Bevier, Jean (Mike) Foley and Linda (Dennis) Highby; grandchildren: Crystal (Bret) Dobbins, Ryan (Jeannie) Bevier, Anne (Dan Benz) Foley, Scott (Jenny) Foley, Mary (Steve) Juenemann, Beth (Carter) Kokjer, Matt (Molly) Highby, Amy (Trent) Santero and Sarah (Kurt) Kaiser; great-grandchildren: Riley & Alyx Dobbins, Caden, Everett & Lilly Bevier, Sean (MacKenzie), Erin & Quinn Benz, Zachary Foley, Meghan (Brandon) Hansen and great-great-grandaughter Emory Jean Hansen, Izaak, Annika & Graeden Juenemann, Thomas, Clara, Harrison, James & Elinor Kokjer, Elliott & Elsa Highby, Grahm, Ansley & Hudson Santero, and Koleman, Keian & Kale Kaiser. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Everett, siblings Darold Lidtke & Darlene Lang, great-granddaughter Lillian Bevier and special friend Maurice Mitchell.
