Sandra Susan Latzke, age 77 of Westbrook formerly of Burnsville, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Our House of Murray County in Slayton.  Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Monday.  Stephens Funeral Service – Westbrook Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Sandra Susan (Schulte) Latzke was born July 17, 1944 to Walter and Myrtle (Peterson) Schulte in Gaylord, Minnesota.  She was baptized and confirmed in Gaylord and later graduated from Gaylord High School.  On November 30, 1963, Sandy married the love of her life, Robert Latzke, at Norseland Lutheran Church in Norseland.  The couple bought their first house at 4305 Sequoia Drive in Eagan for $22,500 in 1970.   Sandy loved traditions and beginning new ones.  Before every school year started, Sandy would take Todd, Lori and Becky shopping and out for lunch at Mr. Steak or Red Lobster. Once grandchildren came along, Sandy included them in the school shopping trip and they also began annual fishing trips. The family also enjoyed going to the Minnesota State Fair, their annual family camping trip, and 4th of July parades.  The fun continued into the winter with making gingerbread houses and decorating Christmas cookies each year, too.  Sandy always kept a vegetable garden, enjoyed assembling puzzles, and collecting antiques and angels of all shapes and sizes. Sandy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Her faith was very important to her, and she could often be heard singing and humming gospel music.

Sandra is survived by her husband Robert Latzke; children: Todd, Lori (Daniel) Fink and Becky (Paul) Becker; seven grandchildren: Scott Latzke, Joshua, Nicholas & Timothy Fink, Laney Milligan, and Teale & Hailey Becker; five great grandchildren: Valerie, Marley & Cash Milligan and Teale & Reace Becker; siblings: Joyce (Bud) Schubert, Bill (Cheryl) Schulte, Roxanne (Tom) Bergs, “Little” Sandy Schulte and Barney Schulte; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Walter & Myrtle Schulte and siblings: Dennis, Milon, Donnie, Lavonne Lipke, Gennie Stressman and Gloria Kahlow.
