Steven Jaycox, age 73 of Currie formerly of Big Lake, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at his home. Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Westbrook Community Center. Another Celebration of Life will be held 5:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2025, on Steven and Ann’s 50th Wedding Anniversary, at American Legion in St. Michael, MN. Interment will be 11:00 a.m. November 14, 2025 in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls. Stephens Funeral Service – Westbrook Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Steven Wayne Jaycox was born August 8, 1952 to Henry and Estelle (Gauthier) Jaycox in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. He was baptized at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pawtucket. Steven enlisted in the U.S. Marines and served as a head cook until 1975. He was then honorably discharged and served in the Minnesota Army National Guard until 2004. On November 15, 1975, Steven married the love of his life, Ann Marie Fortier, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Plymouth, Minnesota. The couple lived in Florida, RI, Big Lake and Maple Grove, MN and finally called the farm in Currie home. There, Steven enjoyed baking for 30 years and worked for Westbrook Walnut Grove Public Schools. He was a member of the Westbrook VFW and participated in pool leagues with his friends. Steven greatly enjoyed music, especially old school rock n’ roll, one year he even snuck into Woodstock. Steven was known to help anyone in need. He loved fishing and bonfires at the farm with his family.
Steven is survived by his wife Ann; children: Steve (Shannon), Derick, and Shawna (Shaun) Anderson; grandchildren: Conner (Kendra) Jaycox, Dakota Johnson, Carson Jaycox, Mackenzie Jaycox, Nathan Anderson, Maddie Jaycox and Brielle Anderson; brothers: Erik, Mike, Guy & Sam Jaycox; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Juanita Gamache, Wanda Burch, Danny & Joe Jaycox.
