Terry Dean Dahms, age 69, of Westminster, Colorado passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. A private family memorial will be held. Burial will be in Peace Memorial Gardens, rural Redwood Falls. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Terry was born in Redwood Falls on February 9, 1957, to Leonard and Elaine (Callan) Dahms, the youngest of six children. He attended grade school and high school in Redwood Falls and graduated in 1975. After high school, Terry worked for Everstrong Construction, Inc in Redwood Falls as a carpenter before moving to Colorado in 1986. While there, he worked for various construction contractors and then became an independent contractor and started Dahms Construction until he retired in 2024. 

Terry loved the weather in Colorado – a big reason why he stayed there for most of his adult life. He also enjoyed softball, skiing, and biking.  He was an avid Minnesota sports fan. You could often find him wearing a Minnesota sports jersey whenever you saw him.  

Terry enjoyed coming back to Minnesota especially for a family gathering. His route would include stopping in Sioux Falls to visit with his nephew, Jeff and family, then to Minnesota to visit and stay with his parents. His trips back home also included some side ventures to visit other nieces and nephews to share the deals he found. He loved finding a good bargain anywhere he went and would purchase multiples of the same item whether it was electronics, tools, or gadgets. 

Terry is survived by his siblings: Darlys (Jack) Cake of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Sharen Monahan (special friend Tom Whittet) of Redwood Falls, Minnesota, Randy Dahms (Pam) of Greenville, Arizona, Kathy Jenniges (special friend Bill Goering) of Garfield, Minnesota, Lenard “Lenny” (Denise) Dahms of Redwood Falls, Minnesota, and many nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends. Terry is preceded in death by both of his parents, Leonard in 2021and Elaine (Callan) Dahms in 2015.
