Timothy Lee Davis was born May 15, 1950 in Echo, Minnesota to Donald & Lucille (Albu) Davis. He worked as a baker for Arvid Ward in Hector before entering the U.S. Army. Tim served as a cook in Delta Junction, Alaska during the Vietnam War. He received his honorable discharge, and then joined the Olivia National Guard where he served for over 25 years before earning his retirement in 2010. On August 5, 1972, Tim was united in marriage to Lois Davis in Sacred Heart, MN. After the wedding, Tim continued baking in Hutchinson, Willmar and Redwood Falls for many years. They lived north of Olivia and in Morton before moving to Redwood Falls in 1983. Together they were care takers of the Redwood County Fairgrounds, while Tim worked at Tersteeg’s Market in for many years until his retirement. After retiring, Tim drove pilot car for Randy Juell for the past three years. He enjoyed riding horse with his friends and family and taught many people how to ride through the years. He’d enjoy a good trail ride and weekend spent sitting around a campfire. He loved playing cards and watching classic black and white westerns. Tim always had a soft spot in his heart for stray dogs and adopted many of them over the years. Friends remember him as a good spirited person, with a great laugh and sparkle in his eye anytime they saw him.
Tim is survived by his wife Lois of 48 years; children: Charles (Krista) Murray-Davis of Wabasso, Stacy Davis (fiancé Douglas Tiegs) of Coon Rapids & Michael (Emily) Davis of Morton; grandchildren: Cassie Murray of Salina, KS, Ryan Murray & Jason Davis both of Wabasso, and Mason & Delaney Davis of Morton; siblings: Dwayne (Joan) Davis of Hutchinson, Dwight Davis of Renville, Jill (Bill) Schmidt of Winona and Tami (Jeff) Revier of Olivia; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
