Adora F. Olson

Adora F. Olson age 90 of Franklin passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 1 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Franklin.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.  Interment is in Ft. Ridgely & Dale Cemetery.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Adora F. Olson was born January 23, 1922 in Franklin, Minnesota to Peder and Christina (Ouren) Pederson.  She attended school in Franklin.  On January 12, 1946, Adora was united in marriage to Arnold Olson.  Adora worked for 16 years as a nurse’s aide at Franklin Heights Nursing Home.  She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church where she was active in the Ladies’ Aid.  Adora enjoyed putting puzzles together, doing word finds, and playing cards.  She also made latch-hook rugs and did some embroidery.  Adora loved visiting and spending time with her family.

Adora is survived by her children: Pamela (Robert) Valentin of Franklin, Douglas (Jean) Olson of Montevideo, and Wayne Olson of Franklin; step-children: Marilyn (Lee) Gibson of Springfield, IL, and Dave (Sherrie) Olson of Creal Springs, IL; grandchildren: Karen (Randy) Malecek, Jason (JoLynn) Valentin, Craig (Loribess) Valentin, Scott (Hope) Valentin, Amanda Valentin, Sarah Olson, Bridget (Kasey) Peck, Darin Olson; 8 step-grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren: Matthew, Brycen, Daniel, Piper, Makayla; and many step-great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister Gladys “Dolly” (Kenneth) Peterson; and sister-in-law Ruth Neunsinger.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Arnold, 5 brothers, and 3 sisters.
