Darlene Pederson
Darlene Pederson age 82 of Belview passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Granite Falls Hospital.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20 at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services on Saturday. Interment will be held at a later date at the Redwood Falls Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent at www.redwoodvalleyfuneralhome.com. The Redwood Valley Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Darlene was born February 2, 1928 at home in Redwood County, MN to George and Erna (Bangerter) King. On August 16, 1947, Darlene was united in marriage to Russell Maxa. To this union, two girls Linda and Brenda were born. Russell died in a truck-train accident. Darlene moved from Tinley Park, IL to Seaforth, MN, then to Echo, MN in the fall of 1956. February 1, 1963, Darlene married James Pederson. James passed away August 18, 1997. On January 2, 2002, Darlene moved to Belview Assisted Living which she greatly enjoyed. Darlene worked a variety of jobs during her lifetime. She worked as a beautician in Illinois, as a bookkeeper for Mocks in Clarkfield, and as City Clerk of Echo amongst many others. Darlene enjoyed reading, puzzles, playing cards especially Whist, and going to garage sales. She also enjoyed her “quiet time”.
Darlene is survived by her daughters Linda (Ron) Kimpling of Sacred Heart and Brenda Zimmerman (special friend Grant “Butch” Norcutt) of Lucan; grandchildren: Cheri (Mario) Lopez of St. Martin, MN, Jeff Hiepler of Richmond, MN, Hayley (Ian) Slagter of Blomkest, MN, Sheldon (Connie) Kimpling of Marshall, Scott (Dena) Kimpling of Norwood Young America, and Mike (Kelly) Kimpling of Waconia; great grandchildren: Joshua Hiepler, Erika & Samuel Lopez, Aubree Hiepler, Justin (Kris), Jared & Jessie Kimpling, Alyssa, Amber, Derek & Danny Kimpling and Blake Kimpling. She is also survived by her brothers: Larry (Pat) King of St. Francis and Wayne (Margy) King of Echo; sister in law Catherine King of Chaska; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, a granddaughter, brother, and son in law. |
