Raymond “Ray” Hatton was born May 27, 1951 in Joliet, IL to Francis and Dolly (Blatti) Hatton. He was baptized in the Catholic faith. He attended school in Joliet, IL, and furthered his education at Willmar Vo-Tech and Jackson Vo-Tech. Ray was united in marriage to Tamora Coyle in 1981 at the Episcopal Church in Marshall, Minnesota. He loved watching old movies, working on engines, riding motorcycle and horses. Ray fixed CB radios, and was always working around the house starting new projects. He loved every aspect of politics and could argue them better than anyone. His family was very important to him, he loved family get-togethers and spending time with his grandkids; he made each one of them feel special and important. Ray loved cooking and made the best lasagna. He often could be found playing guitar and writing songs, but was shy to sing when he knew people were listening. His brother, Roy, would drive great distances just to spend a few hours playing guitar with Ray.
Ray is survived by his ex-wife Tammy Hatton of Canton, SD; children: Marjorae (Freddie) Martinez of Windom, Shane Jensen of St. Cloud, Ray Jr. (Krista) Hatton of Marshall, Randy (Missy) Jensen of Comfrey, Aren (Brandi Jo) Hatton of Tyler, and Jessica (Dean) Parker of Westbrook; 16 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brother Roy (JoAnn) Hatton of Wisconsin; 2 nieces Lenore and Jennifer; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Jeremy Hatton, and an infant sister.
