Roy William Arnold age 93 of Walnut Grove passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Sanford Tracy Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 27 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove. Visitation is at 9:30 a.m. Monday until the time of service at the church. Roy William Arnold was born February 3, 1923 on the family farm in Rose Hill Township, south of Westbrook, Cottonwood County, Minnesota to Henry and Elizabeth (Boughman) Arnold. He was baptized at home and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Roy attended country school District 64 south of Storden and later Bean Lake School northeast of Westbrook. He lived in Soutbrook Township for a number of years, then lived on the west side of Bean Lake for three years, seven years north of Bean Lake, and then moved northwest of Walnut Grove in 1947 where he resided until moving into Tracy recently. Roy helped on the farm and later took over the farming. He was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Roy is survived by nieces and nephews: Rebecca (Marlin) Peterson, Kevin (Kim) Arnold, Leone (Pat) Kavanaugh, LaVonne (Tom) Craft, Alson “Butch” (Shirley) Scarset, and Fay (Emiliano) Felipe; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Carl Arnold, sisters Laura Mae Scarset and Louise Arnold, niece Wyonne Holmes, and great nephew Lincoln Roy Arnold.
