Raymond H. “Bud” Stynski
Raymond H. “Bud” Stynski, age 79 of Lucan passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2010.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 12 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan.
Visitation will be held Sunday, 4:00-7:00 p.m. AT THE CHURCH, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., and will continue one hour prior to services on Monday. Interment will be in Our Lady of Victory Catholic Cemetery. The Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Bud was born January 13, 1931 in Ivanhoe, MN to Mark and Regina (Przybys) Stynski. He received the Sacraments in the Catholic faith. Bud attended school in Ivanhoe. After his schooling, he entered the US Army in 1951 and served during the Korean War. Bud received his Honorable Discharge in 1954. He took great pride in serving his country and being a part of the military. Following his service, he returned to Lucan. Bud was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Pavek on October 27, 1953 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan. He purchased the Mobil Station in Lucan and ran Stynski Oil Company for many years. Bud enjoyed giving children rides in the payloader and was known by many as “Grandpa Bud”. He was very active in the community, serving on the Lucan Fire Department for 45 years and with the Lucan Lions. He was a 50-year member of the American Legion, and was also a long-time member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Bud enjoyed fishing, especially ice fishing, hunting, cutting wood for the wood burner and helping people around town.
Bud is survived by his daughters: Karen (Doug) Salfer of Dayton, MN; Shari (Chuck) Jenniges of Lucan and Deb (Brian) Bertek of Eagle Lake; 7 grandchildren: Keith (Heather) Salfer, Danielle (Tim) Perry, Jonah (Jessie) Jenniges, Jared and Jace Jenniges, Sonia and Braxton (Trish) Bertek; 9 great-grandchildren: Blake and Macy Salfer, Samantha and Aidan Perry, Austin and Evelyn Jenniges, Desirae Zavala and Candace and Cameron Jenniges; brothers: Gordon Stynski of Ivanhoe, Norbert Stynski of Colorado Springs, CO and Lawrence Stynski of Ivanhoe; sister Caroline Teilges of Tracy; and many other friends and relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruth Ann, only son Mark, brother Richard Stynski, nephew Scott Stynski, niece Noreen Stynski and many other relatives.
