Floyd C. Nordsiden age 89 of Westbrook passed away Monday, May 12, 2014.  Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 15 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook.  Visitation is one hour prior to services.  Private family burial is in Walnut Grove Cemetery.  Stephens Funeral Service – Westbrook Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Floyd Chester Nordsiden was born October 21, 1924 in Cottonwood County, Minnesota to Henry and Ora (Wilson) Nordsiden.  He grew up on the family farm in Ann Township near Walnut Grove.  Floyd was baptized and confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church near Walnut Grove.  He attended country school District 43.  After school, Floyd worked on the family farm.  On October 21, 1946 Floyd married Luella Check.  He farmed in the local area and served as janitor at Westbrook Public School.  Floyd was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Westbrook.  He enjoyed gardening.

Floyd is survived by his wife Luella of Westbrook; sons: Allen of Sioux City, IA, Kenneth (Carol) of St. Cloud, Steven (Karen) of Le Sueur, and Larry (Kim) of Winner, SD; 15 grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister Eunice (Arvid) Anderson of Lamberton; and brother-in-law Donald Check of Minnetonka.
