Thomas N. Noram age 84 of Walnut Grove passed away on Monday, May 10, 2010 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at English Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove with interment in the Windom Memorial Garden.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.  The Walnut Grove Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Thomas was born September 25, 1925 in Spirit Lake, Iowa to Nels & Bertena (Nelson) Noram.  Thomas was united in marriage to Donna Haser in Jackson, Minnesota.  After Thomas’ schooling, Thomas farmed with his dad and brother in the Windom area until 1964.  He then moved to Walnut Grove where he farmed south of town until his retirement in the mid 1990’s.  Donna passed away December 24, 2008.  After Thomas retired, he moved to town where he resided since.  Thomas enjoyed playing cards, especially 500.  He belonged to several card clubs.  He also enjoyed wintering in the south, particularly in Arizona.  Thomas loved fishing, camping and going to rodeo’s with his family.

Thomas is survived by his children: Kenny (Pamela J.) Noram of Walnut Grove, Peggy (Ken) Bestge of Willmar, Tom Jr. (Wendy) Noram of  Walnut Grove, Jim Noram of Currie, and Ron (Eileen) Noram of Garvin; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sister Thelma Hallgren of Rockford, Illinois; and many other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Donna; sisters: Julia, Hazel and Bertha; and brothers: Ervin, Ole and Oliver.
