Shahn Forrest Leith, age 64 of Clements, formerly of Lower Sioux, started his journey to the spirit world unexpectedly on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at his home. An all-night visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, March 14 at the Lower Sioux (Cansayapi) Recreational Center and will continue until the service on Friday. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2024 at the Lower Sioux (Cansayapi) Recreational Center. Interment will be in the St. Cornelia’s Episcopal Cemetery.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Shahn Forrest Leith “The Dude” was born November 8, 1959 to Forrest “Twig” Leith and Janet Gail Zahn in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He attended schools in Minnetonka and Wayzata and grew up in Minneapolis before moving to the Lower Sioux Community. He married Kathy Zydiak on June 26, 1981. They lived in Hopkins and Redwood Falls. Shahn and Kathy later moved to Clements in 2005. They were blessed with a son, Brandon. Shahn worked for many years at Advanced Flex as a circuit board operator and then as a security guard for Jackpot. Shahn participated in bowling leagues with friends and family. He enjoyed a good game of horseshoes, pool, darts, and Frisbee. He brought his own gadgets to those games. This is not a goodbye, but “Take it easy,” as Shahn would say.

Shahn is survived by his wife Kathy; son Brandon; stepchildren: Ashley and Ryan Olson; granddaughter Madison Billmeier; siblings: Robin & Kirk Leith and Shannon Frauly; and many other relatives and friends. Shahn is preceded in death by his father Forrest “Twig”, mother Janet Zahn, sisters: Mimi Leith and Jaclyn Staley; uncle Charlie; anties’: Sandee and Yoyo and his dog companion Shnoopie.
