Rosella M. Vogl, age 92, of Walnut Grove passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Golden Living Center in Wabasso.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan.
Visitation is 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday at the church with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Interment is in Our Lady of Victory Catholic Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com. Rosella Marie Vogl was born December 29, 1918 in Lisbon, ND to Frank and Mary (Beilen) Hornick. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. Rosella attended school in Lisbon, ND, and then moved with her family to Springfield, MN. She worked as a housekeeper for many families in the area. On August 17, 1939 Rosella was united in marriage to Lawrence Vogl in Springfield. She lived and worked on the family farm for over 60 years. Rosella was a long time member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan. She loved vegetable and flower gardening, raising chickens, and always had eggs to share. Rosella insisted on mending worn out clothes rather than throwing them away. She kept records of all happenings, and was known for her great memory.
Rosella is survived by her children Marcella Williams of McAllen, TX, Donald of Walnut Grove, and Robert (Barbara) of Walnut Grove; 8 grandchildren: Debbie, Scott, Billy, Dave, Todd, Wade, Joseph, and Joshua; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sister Bernice Galush of St. Paul; and sisters-in-law Angie Hornick and Vera Bloedow. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lawrence, brothers Alfred and Bernard, sisters Deloris and Louella, and infant sister Alice.
